Restored Gifted in Operating Order

This was the first example of the last model of bus ordered by the Christchurch Transport Board before it was disbanded in 1989. Ordered in 1986, they went into service between 1986 and 1990., numbered 612 - 669.

612 was presented to the Society at a ceremony at Ferrymead Park on 10th November 2010 by Red Bus Ltd, represented by Mr Paul McNoe. It was accepted on behalf of the Society by past President Mr Max Taylor.

Mr Max Taylor had previously accepted the bus on behalf of the Christchurch Transport Board in his role as General Manager of that organisation when it was originally delivered. 612 was originally named "Canterbury".
